Vedran was involved in the martial arts since childhood, but his martial way truly began in 2001 with Goju-Ryu under the enthusiastic training of Renshi Adette Rice. Vedran earned his black belt in August of 2007, but had to temporarily relocate due to his career and his training was suspended for several months. Upon his return in 2008, Vedran quickly took on instructing and assisting responsibilites, while intensifying his training.

As a martial artist, Vedran seeks to perfect his techniques and more importantly his understanding of them and the martial arts way by instructing others. As an instructor, Vedran brings a sense of humour and a vigorous spirit to the dojo, and he attempts to raise the bar for each of his students every class.

Vedran is a both a student in the martial arts and an academic student pursuing a career in genetics and computer science, and he chooses to excel in both. He continues to train with Renshi Rice as he progresses in the Goju-Ryu way, and is currently working towards a bachelor degree from the University of Waterloo.
